Wishing a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my friends in blog land.
With Christmas only a week away -decided this would be my final post for 2016. If you are like me there is still last minute things to accomplish and folks to see.
Will be stopping by to visit each of you in the coming two weeks.
I've certainly been blessed this past year by all the wonderful posts that you have shared.
The photos, the words, and the precious visits here have kept me inspired, uplifted and feeling connected to something larger than my tiny space in this world. Thank You.
.
May you each find special joy this Christmas season...Emmanuel - God with Us!

Just In Time
Winter arrived just in time...
for these two checking out the food supply...
this one exploring an unknown track....
and me enjoying a bit of doodling.
For certain winter arrived in time for the Christmas season. So glad it did.
Hope you are too!
Have a wonderful week.

Cookie Baking
A favorite part of the holiday season for me is cookie baking.
Over the years I have sampled a variety of drop, shaped , decorated, bar and no bake types.
Some have been so complicated that they may be a couple of days in the making. Others so simple that one can stir them up and have them ready in a short few minutes.
For every taste bud there is a special cookie that will satisfy.
As I and my family have aged some of the fancy favorites have been exchanged for old fashioned goodness.
These gingered molasses cookies are a good example. They are simple to bake and with just plain ingredients most everyone enjoys them.
They are fragrantly spicy and perfectly chewy. Just what I enjoy in a cookie.
If anyone wants the recipe -let me know. Will be glad to share.
Hope everyone is having a great start to the Christmas season. For all of those who love cookie baking - may your endeavors bring you hours of blissful joy!
Have a blessed week!

Sixty Years
Today marks sixty years of living.
Here are a few bits of wisdom I have learned over six decades.
Life may bring changes but some things remain the same.
There is nothing like a lovely walk in the woods to clear one's thoughts.
The joy of gathering generally starts at a young age.
A loyal dog makes the best friend!
One never grows too old to enjoy dressing up and going to a party!
Last but not least spending time "looking up" yields a great way to start a day.
So there you are sweet friends...a few pearls of wisdom. Bet you have some too.
Have a great day.
P.S. Christmas is only four weeks away. My how this year has flown by.

Park Your Cares
Amish Farm near our home |
This vista seems like a good place to start. Very simple and serene.
A country barn |
Here is a lovely spot to make a stop.
A pasture field |
Don't you love that butternut color? It really seems to pop!
Horses Grazing |
Those two seem to be enjoying this gorgeous day.
October Sky |
How about the blue sky?
Don't those clouds look peaceful?
A fence row |
Nothing like fall colors to brighten a fence row.
Woodland |
Love this wooded glade. We will be sure to return here.
So glad you joined us on our country ride. Hope you left all your cares behind.
Have a blessed week.

Fall Happenings
We at Harmony Hills are beginning to enjoy those wonderful fall happenings.
Lovely colors are starting to make a show.
The hills seem to be changing before our very eyes.
Indoors some simple homey foods are starting to cook.
Nothing like a wonderful chuck roast with a few carrots, potatoes, celery, onion and a clove of garlic simmering to make one's appetite come alive.
Then to satisfy that sweet tooth how about a few oatmeal raisin cookies with a nice tall glass of milk. ( Hmm no wonder my jeans are getting a bit tighter !)
Well best get back outdoors and enjoy the last lovely flowers. They seem to be holding on before that final frost takes them away.
So glad you stopped to visit and catch up on all the fall happenings.
Hope you will share some of yours too.
Many Hugs!

Hurricane Matthew
Thinking of those who have suffered great loss due to hurricane Matthew.
Hope you would join me tonight in lifting up prayers and thoughts for the folks who have lost loved ones, their homes and places of business.
Thank you & God Bless

Cooler Nights and Shorter Days
Those cooler nights and shorter days are reminding me the annuals will soon need to be brought indoors....
that my little friend will be finding a warmer spot to huddle...
gathering wildflowers will be exchanged for finding the perfect fallen leaves...
and there will be more time spent in the studio.
By the way I think Shelby doesn't need a reminder. She is certainly prepared for those cooler nights and shorter days.
Hope all of you are getting ready too.
Many Hugs!

Misty Morning
MISTY MORNING - by JULIE FORD OLIVER |
A photo taken close to my home inspired this gorgeous painting. Julie had seen it on one of my previous posts and asked if she could paint it.
To say the least she did a gorgeous job. What an amazing work of art. The cross in the sky says it all "keep Looking Up".
God Bless You friend.
May everyone have a wonderful week.

Summer's End
Here are a few photos to celebrate Summer's end.
Heavenly skies...
Season's bounty...
Late bloomers....
Afternoon sunshine on a friend
or
two.
God Bless and have a great week.
