An Unusual Surprise

October brought an unusual surprise...

a sweet violet blooming in autumn's sunshine.

They generally are one of April's gifts.

Upon searching found three more bravely poking their heads above fall's debris.

Just goes to show that each season may delight us with unusual surprises.

Hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of spring in October.

Have a blessed week.

Hugs Debbie

  1. A blessed Sunday to you, Debbie.
Oh how I love wild violets. Years ago I had one in my garden. Honestly, I have never smelled anything so sweet that was so tiny.
I cannot locate them where I live now.. Most likely too hot here.
    Thank you for sharing this.
    fondly,

  4. Our moderate temperatures are probably confusing the poor flowers...but how lovely for us to see this little gem poking it's head out. Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a wonderful week, Debbie.

  5. At first I thought: A miracle. Then I read one of the comments about moderate temperatures being the cause for the pretty little violet...It's all a miracle in the end, I think. And you, taking the time to notice the little one!

  8. Hello Debbie, while gardening yesterday I uncovered a primrose happily flowering under a mountain of leaves. I cleared the leaves away, but now I’m wondering if I should have left them because the nights are getting cold. I dare say more will fall soon and this time I will leave well alone. It was such a joy to find spring flowers in October. Have a wonderful week, hugs Barbara

  9. Happy Week, Debbie!
Pansies and violets are cool weather flowers. My orange pansy bloomed a tiny flower before the heat wave drooped it dry.
